HIV Project Overview

NELICO, as a sub-grantee to PACT-Tanzania, is implementing the ACHIEVE project at the community level. In FY22, NELICO operated in the Geita and Shinyanga regions, covering eight councils. In the Geita region, NELICO worked in Geita DC, Chato DC, Mbogwe DC, Bukombe DC, Nyangwale DC, and Geita Town Council. In the Shinyanga region, operations were conducted in Shinyanga DC, Kishapu DC, and Shinyanga MC.

In FY22, NELICO collaborated with over 2,000 community volunteers to provide services to more than 15,000 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) within the ACHIEVE project.

The Adolescents and Children HIV Incidence Reduction, Empowerment, and Virus Elimination (ACHIEVE) project is a five-year global initiative (2019-2024) aimed at achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control among pregnant and breastfeeding women, adolescents, infants, and children. This project is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and is implemented by a Pact-led consortium of leading global HIV/AIDS partners, including Jhpiego, Palladium, No Means No Worldwide, and WI-HER.
