Your itinerary
Day 1 — Central Serengeti
Straight into the Serengeti. Fly from Arusha into central Serengeti and begin your first game drive shortly after landing. The Seronera area combines open plains, riverine forest and rocky kopjes, giving your guide several different habitats to explore for lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and other resident wildlife.
Settle into your tented lodge in the evening with the first full day of Serengeti ahead of you.

Day 2 — Central Serengeti
A full day without needing to move on. Spend the day exploring the Seronera area rather than packing up for another park. Your guide can follow promising sightings, move between the plains, river valleys and kopjes, and let the day develop around the wildlife rather than a transfer schedule.
Return to the same lodge for a second night.

Day 3 — Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro
One last Serengeti morning. Start with another game drive in central Serengeti before leaving the park and travelling towards the Ngorongoro highlands. The landscape changes noticeably as the plains give way to greener, cooler country approaching the crater.
Arrive near the rim in the late afternoon and settle in for the final night.

Day 4 — Ngorongoro Crater
Into the caldera. Descend early onto the Ngorongoro Crater floor for the final game drive of the honeymoon. The crater supports an exceptional concentration of wildlife within a compact landscape, including lion, buffalo, elephant, hippo and the possibility of seeing black rhino.
After the game drive, climb back out and continue to Arusha.

Is this safari for you?
Choose this trip if the Mara River crossings are one of the main reasons you are coming to Tanzania and you are willing to give the experience time.
That also means accepting some uncertainty. Wildebeest do not cross according to a timetable, and a day at the river may involve long periods of watching and waiting before anything happens.
If you want guaranteed sightings or are travelling outside the July–October northern migration window, this exact itinerary is not the right one.
